Hi
I can understand your confusion for this hotel, there are some not so good reviews, but if you read most of those reviews you will see that it is the holiday makers at fault, ie kids %26#39;messing%26#39; in the pool, the hotel provides nappies for the pool, so you cant blame the hotel.
I%26#39;ve been there the last five years and I am desperate to get there this year, we love the place, but at the end of the day it depends what you want from a holiday. we personnally join in all the activities and therefore get to know like minded people, the time and effort Dido (chief animator) and his staff put in to entertaining the guests is unbelievable, but you are not forced to join in if you don%26#39;t want to.
some people say its like a holiday camp, where as i wouldnt disagree i also wouldnt mean it as a bad thing, we go there to switch off from life here and be entertained, fed and watered as much as we want.
the food is out of this world, buffet breakfast, lunch you have a choice - fast food in the pool bar, chinese or you can choose to go to the dining room and evening meal in the dining room (long trousers only for gents)
bus stop outside the hotel for all local ammenities.
decor of hotel may be looking a bit tired but this hotel is open 52wks a year and every year we have arrived, there has been something refurbished.
the hotel staff we have found are extremely friendly and helpful, yes the waiting on staff are from other countries usually students who love the chance to practise their english. the management always go out of their way to speak to us as they genuinely recognise us.
the rooms, which are often mentioned in these reviews are not very big, but to be honest i dont want to spend my holiday in there, sometimes there has just been the two of us and sometimes weve had two teenage boys with us. the tv, again its not what i go for, but we can keep a check on the news and on certain days of the week there is a channel with english speaking films and foreign subtitles.
again i cannot stress enough how important it is to go with an open mind and make sure you pick a hotel that caters for the type of holiday you want e.g. kids or no kids, if your not bothered about joining in with the fun and games go somewhere that has less activities.
our whole family love this place, and so do the majority of the guests, to say we%26#39;ve been going there five years we are still beginners compared to some who have been going 14 or more years. and to me that says it all
any more queries just ask
thanks, jayne

when are you thinking of going to the pheathon?we are a party of seventeen and will be there for our daughters wedding, the hotel has mixed reviews, but so does most! people are so different and some expect peace in a family hotel during the six weeks holidays why choose this type of hotel there are loads of others myself if i was choosing for our ususal couples hols i would go back to the azia or amathus this holiday is for all my family to have a great fun in the sun and the phaethon has its strong point there along with the food i do not expect the same quality in bedlinen towels etc and will not be moaning about this when i come home also children who fowl the pool is not the fault of the hotel parents with a capital P.
