Hi,
Wondered if anyone could help. I%26#39;ll be coming to Protaras for 2 days in August, coming 9th and leaving 11th. It%26#39;s a short visit and there are 5 of us. We are really struggling to get 2 rooms for just 2 nights around the Fig Tree Bay area. Does anyone know of any that would accomodate?

I am really surprised that you can%26#39;t get rooms. Tourism is very down this year and most of the hotels/apartments aren%26#39;t running at full capacity. Have you tried ringing any of the hotels direct?

I think the problem is most require for us to stay for at least 7 days. So I think it%26#39;s the 2 day stay that%26#39;s the problem. But I%26#39;ve emailed hotels directly and they say they don%26#39;t have availibility. Are there any hotels you know of that do just 2 days?

Hi, if you%26#39;re prepared to stay some four+ miles away in Kapparis, have a look at http://www.captainkaras.com/ which is open all year round and often used for short stays. Prices are reasonable too which would compensate for any taxi rides to/from Protaras.
And the local facilities are good too.

I really am so suprised with such a poor tourist season this year that any Cypriot business would turn you away. If you are prepared to stay out of Fig Tree Bay, google Livas Apartments Pernera. This is where I stay and they did do short stays. In the same area there is also the Maricosta apartments, Debbie Xenia, Seagull %26amp; Windmills. Pernera is on the outskirts of Protaras itself, approximately 20 minute walk to Fig Tree Bay, 5 minute taxi ride %26amp; there are local buses every half hour. Possibly the problem is, whilst tourism is reduced this year, August is the peak month for families, and it may be that the big hotels are tied into tour operator contracts and hoping for last minute 7 or 14 day bookings. Good luck with your search.

Hi, just had a look on Thomson, they have 2 hotels in Protaras for the 2 nights, Chrystalla and Elamaris. The Chrystalla is in the right area but has bad reviews on here. The Elamaris has better reviews but is in Pernera (still a nice area). We stayed at the Elamaris abot 5 years ago and it was fine, but not sure about now.
Hope this helps.

I a looking for a similar thing! try Mandali or kapetanios bay, booking direct with them. Have stayed in Mandali before and it is older and basic but clean and cheap. Vey handy location and helpful staff. Will probably be there same time as you I hope!
