Ive stayed here three years ago and they were very nice. There just on the back road at the rear of the Alva apartments, they are at the Fig Tree end of Protaras. Airtours were the only company booking them so all the people were english, dont know if this is still the case. Last year we stayed in the Alva from 23rd September for two weeks and the weather was lovely. apart from a quick downpour one afternoon.

Many thanks this is very helpful

Hi, We haven%26#39;t stayed at the Lantiana Gardens, but we did go to Pernera (outskirts of Protaras) last October (14th for 1 week), and the weather was lovely.

Don%26#39;t know the exact temperature, but you could lie in the sun all day and the sea was still warm to swim in (although you couldn%26#39;t say the same for the pool ..brr!)

We didn%26#39;t have any rain, there was a nice breeze during the day, but it did get a bit cool in the evenings - might need a light jacket.

Definitely a lovely time to go though. Enjoy !

Brilliant thanks very much looking foward to escaping the Scottish summer (wet %26amp; cold!)

Hello there, I came back from the Lantiana Gardens last Sunday. They were nice clean apartments and well equipt (even had a microwave!!). They are not far from anywhere and are set back a little from the nightlife, this can be a god send especially in high season as it can get noisy on the main strip. They have a nice pool and bar area which also serves meals. Internet access, as well as some eveing entertainment. Weather in October is generally good, very warm (warmer than the likes of spain and greece). I have been to Cyprus 7 times in total so I hope this reply will help. If you need anything further please just email, I will be glad to help!!

Thank PJ response much appreciated %26amp; I hope you don%26#39;t mind answering a couple more questions I have.

Should we take euro%26#39;s or travellers cheques, do they charge for loungers on the beach?

Last but not least what are the prices like in Cyprus are they much like Spain etc. I%26#39;ve heard a few peple returning from Spain Portugal etc and saying how expensive it%26#39;s become?

All advice is really helpful prior to going somewhere new %26amp; this forum is invaluble!!

Thanks

Hi Karen,

Yes they do charge for loungers on the beach, we w ere paying 12 euros for 4 sunbeds and 2 umbrellas so they wernt that expensive!

You have to take euros now. They are phasing out the Cypriot pund and the are trying to get rid of it all together by september.

If you were thinking of car hire, it is really easy to organise whilst your out there and its a great benefit that they drive on the same side of the road as us.

Also, most hotels have 3 pin plug points unlike the rest of eurport (the lantiana is one of them) so you dont need to take a plug adaptor.

Let me know if there is anything else you would like to know, I%26#39;m quite clued up on Cyprus!!

You%26#39;ll have a great time honestly.

Kind regards

P.S. Let me know if you would like to recommend some of the best resstaurants around!

I hired a car last year from Thsilivi travel on the main strip, nice clean car with full insurance and no access to pay.

HI PJ8964

Very usful point on the 3 point plugs I assumed I would need the adapters.

Resturant tips would be great we%26#39;re not great seafood lovers but anything else we%26#39;ll give it a try, I%26#39;m celebrating a birthday when I%26#39;m in Cyprus %26amp; we had planned a nice meal out etc so any tips would be appreciated.

Many thanks
