Hi, we are going for the 8th time to Protaras (near Kapparis). For a change we fancy doing the 3 day cruise to Egypt but not sure if we should book before we go (3rd Sept) or whilst we are there. I have a feeling via the rep is not the best way to go about this due to the cost. Has anyone else done this trip - I would welcome any suggestions?

This was a trip I really wanted to do the first time in Cyprus When I returned we priced this trip through the reps. A family of 4 was far too expensive I reccommend that you find agents in Protaras - usually anyone who hires cars will be doing trips- the price is far cheaper. The ships all leave the same ports at the same time and there is no difference in the service.A word of warning-- gold on sale by bus reps are a rip-off--. If this is a trip you really want to do go for it -- I really enjoyed it but I will never again book through holiday reps.

We went on the cruise a few years ago, but booked in a local travel agency once there. It was about half the price of booking before we went away and a lot cheaper than the rep. We had booked a lot of excursions through the rep before we realised how much more expensive it was so have a look around before you sign up for anything with the rep.

Hi, I am off to Protaras on Monday. I am the same not sure what to do, if to book before I go or when I am there. I will forget the reps I think. Got some quotes, but for 2 adults and 2 kids, depending where you stay on the boat it comes to about £670-1000 so much more than we thought it would be. I hear you can fly there to. I have quotes from Regency Travel the Ivory Ship and Louis Cruises. Is it safe to take kids? 8th time to Protaras must be nice then. I can%26#39;t wait.... is the trip worth the money is what I want to know.

Lucky girl I have to wait another 11 days to go! Wait and see any cruise offers posted in Protaras it will work out cheaper. It is safe enough to take kids but be aware that the coach journey from Port Said to Cairo is long and can be a bit boring depending on age of kids. We found Cairo museum very crowded and if kids are tired this is a bit of a hassle. Watch out for sellers at the Pyramids they are in your face from the minute you get off coach they also have child sellers who will try and target your children. I wouldnt pay too much for cabins as you will not be in them too long especially 2nd night when you are so exhausted from all the travel.

Hi, thanks I will be patient then as it is driving me made what to book. Bit worried about the kids, but guess that is normal. Enjoy your holiday...
