Transfers

Why on earth is there not a public shuttle or bus service from the Airport out to the major resorts etc. A destination such as Cyprus with a very well established tourist market surely must have something in Paphos.

There is, it started two weeks ago.

When I read of the new Paphos Airport shuttle bus I thought it said it ran to Limassol only, the reason was because most of the Paphos travellers were on charter flights catered for by private coaches.

Did I get it wrong?

I will have to check on this one. I was under the impression that a shuttle was going to run also into Paphos and Coral Bay. I know of the Limassol and Larnaca- Nicosia one.

Let%26#39;s see what info is out there, no info on airport website.

What !!!! and have all the taxi drivers deprived of the chance to charge us sky high fares.

Also , would these run late at night when some flights arrive.

Thanks for your responses they sound promising. but I wonder where you might have got the info%26#39; that there is a public bus transfer service from the airport. For the life of me, I can%26#39;t find any reference to it?

Anyone else can advise/

News of the new shuttle out of Paphos Airport was reported in the Cyprus News July 18

Sorry that should read Cyprus Mail

Thank you, there was also reference to the taxi driver strike, which in the end did not happen.

From the Cyprus Mail July 18.

Looks like it`s only running to Larnaca airport

=====================================================

THE BUS service linking the island’s main cities with Larnaca airport has been used by more than 800 people since it since its launch, officials said yesterday.

The service, which began on Monday from Nicosia, on Wednesday from Limassol and yesterday from Paphos, has been branded as a success in the first few days of its operation.

Some 700 people have travelled on Nicosia-Larnaca or Larnaca-Nicosia route since the beginning of the week, more than 100 travellers have used the Limassol service in its first two days, while Paphos was the only city where demand was absent in the first day.

However, the manager of the company operating the service from Paphos, which began yesterday, was not very confident that the route would be a success.

“The problem with Paphos is that 90 per cent of its airport traffic is through charter flights and in such cases tour operators cater for their transport by including buses to their hotels in the price. Also don’t forget that Paphos has its own airport as well. This route is more for students or people and families not booking package deals. We do not expect much, but we will wait and see,” Chrysostomos Chrysostomou told the Cyprus Mail.

The service from Paphos will initially take passengers to Limassol where they can take the shuttle service from there, but Chrysostomou confirmed that this was just a temporary measure and within a few days the service would operate directly to the Larnaca terminal.

Answer to an email querying this service,

Dear Mr. ****

Thank you for your email.

The Public Transport bus has not started their service to and from Pafos as yet and the commencement date for this service is still unclear.

The options are:

Private Transport

Taxi to Pafos (around €25-€30)

Kind regards
