Been to Cyprus 2 years in a row and each time had those delicious honey coated nuts which we bought when in the Troodos mountains.
Not going to Cyprus this year so unfortunately all I can do is think about the nuts rather than eat them.
Has anyone ever seen anything similar in the UK by any chance??

I cannot think of the Cypriot name at the moment, but they are available in London.

What kind of nuts - peanut, almond, Macadamia?

The honey coated nuts are genrally the almond. They are coated in honey mixed with sugar. The sugar is boiled until disolved and then equal amounts of honey are added to the mixture. Almonds are then stirred in and coated and left to rest in a cool place to set.

No they weren%26#39;t almonds - we got cashew nuts and peanuts and they had quite a thick crispy coating of honey I think it was. I did get some almonds but just the normal sugared almonds which were delicious but not as nice as the honey coated ones.

They are Greek then. The only one%26#39;s made by locals in Cyprus are the almond one%26#39;s. The others may be packed in Cyprus but are not made by locals.

About three-quarters down this link, there%26#39;s a demo for making caramelised nuts. Is this the type you%26#39;re after?
