Winter weather

Can anyone please tell me what the weather is like in Dec and Jan in Cyprus?

When I was there in December a few years ago it was a bit of a mixed bag. It was very very wet but quite mild. It was odd to see the Cypriots wrapped up in winter coats and bobble hats and scarves when it was probably the equivalent to a wet April day in the UK.

The hotel I stayed in had the heating on full bat and I was sweltering. So much so that I had to sleep with the balcony door open.

This January was a different matter. It was very dry and sunny. Again, the Cypriots were wrapped up like Nanook of the North but I just wore pants, long sleeved T shirt and a bodywarmer (although I could easily have dispensed with the bodywarmer but would have looked out of place).

Hiya,

Temepratures are generally in the high teens with some wet weather expected. However, the last four years has seen a serious winter drought.

Cyprus is comparable to the Cannaries.

Check out www.wunderground.com for historical weather information.

Hope this helps.

It was wet as humid or wet as raining in december?I was in Larnaca now and couldnt breath bcs of humidity in the air.I thought myself i will never go to Larnaca in summer again. In Nicosia wasnt humidity but was very hot around 42 degrees yet it felt more comfortable than humidity in Larnaca.

Sun, wind, rain ?, hail, snow, frost, ice. Take your pick it can all come at once. November, December, January, February are genrally regarded as the unsettled months.

Don%26#39;t believe the adds, %26quot;Cyprus a year round sunny island%26quot; the weather is unpredictable.

In January this year I wore a sweater in Limassol, and a Gore-tex parka 25 miles away while fixing my frozen water pipes...
