fuel charges at airport

has anyone been hit by fuel charges at the airport,friends of ours had to pay at the check in on the way to florida,we book and paid for r flights months ago before the fuel charges increased ,im worried incase they make us pay the extra at check in.is this likely

I went to florida in april and although the fuel wasnt as bad as it is now, we didnt pay anything extra at the airport, all our fuel charges were payed up front and added to the price of the holiday when we booked, even then it was only ten pounds each.Im sure the holiday company would have to inform you weel in advance if anything like that was too happen.Your freinds didnt fly with one of the cheap flight companys by any chance.
