that was the one thing that disappointed me about our holiday - the beach at the Kefalos!! The actual beach was OK but the water....... bit seaweedy and there was a strange band of rocks about 10 foot out to sea. Unfortunately it put me off and so I didn%26#39;t go in the sea there. A few people told us that Coral Beach was great but REALLY crowded and row upon row of sunloungers this time of year,so we avoided it. We went to Latchi (in the North) when we hired a car and it was lovely there, and very quiet.

Just to clarify - Latchi is not in the Northern sector of Cyprus- it is north west of Paphos.

Yes sorry forgot to say - you forget about the buffer zone not living there. Anyway wouldn%26#39;t be able to take the hire car to the Turkish bit.

Hi, agree with what has been said in the previous reply. Was at Kefalos a few weeks ago just before the start of the UK school holidays. There is a grassy area just behind the beach which has sun loungers but the beach itself there is very small. There are a couple of small patches of rough grainy almost stony sand - one of which is for some reason signposted - kids beach - which is about 6 - 10 ft long. There is a small short pier where i saw some adults swimming from as it goes out a little further than the rocks. The sea had lots of sea weed and other rubbish and not very appealing. There is a hotel next door which is only a short walk over the grass and they have a better small beach and more people were actually swimming there, although the sand is still not soft or golden. Went to Coral Beach and it is more of a typical beach but there are rows and rows of sunbeds and it was very busy. Heard from others that there are better beaches but a distance away which we didnt do as had a child with us who only wanted to stay by the pool all day. The weather was great and very hot so the pool was very welcome.
