Will be visiting cyprus april/may next year and had heard that you can visit holy lands from there by ferry, is that still the case and does anybody have ideas of cost/duration etc.

Yes one can visit the Holy Land by ferry from Cyprus
These are normaly two or three day trips.
Suggest you look up LOUISE CRUISES.

Yes they are available as advised above. One word of caution, if any trouble flairs up in the region all cruises do get cancelled at a moments notice.
If you want somewhere really different try Syria, fantastic place.

I did this trip some 20 years ago
It was amazing - the highlight of our holiday
only drawback - the crossing was rough and I was rather ill
