Village Apartments in Cyprus? And December

We are planning to spend 2 weeks in Cyprus over Christmas break...and will most possibly stay in one of the village apartments as we really do not want the typical beach resort holiday. But as this is the first time to visit Cyprus, I wonder if anyone can give me a true picture of the village apartments and whether %26quot;death by freezing%26quot; may be the outcome of this holiday?

Hiya,

It will be winter at Christmas but Cyprus is probably the warmest area within Europe.

The temperatures are usually high teens to low 20s.

The sea is chilly but bearable but outdoor pools tend to be too cold.

For warmer weather, stay in the southern hemisphere!

Regards,

Stewart

thank you- this is already helpful!!! I am from the southern hemisphere and realize that a winterly Cyprus is waiting. Within this framework and the context of the village apartments (or other off the beaten track options) I need more information, such as the availability of central heating, rainfall expectations and how often snow is found on the mountains...some websites suggest snow in December?
