Looking for somewhere to go for a change, usually like the quieter parts of Turkey, recently returned from Kalkan which was fantastic. Found Kyrenia on the web and I%26#39;ve quite taken a fancy to it, my Hubby and myself are in our late forties so our clubbing days are over we%26#39;re more into nice meals, friendly bars and a bit of culture these days and of course relaxing by the pool with a nice cold drink. Hoping to book a villa/apartment just wondered how expensive food and drink is out there although of course I know it often depends on where you decide to eat. Didn%26#39;t find Turkey that cheap this year but it wasn%26#39;t too expensive either. Be grateful if anyone could give me any background on the place anything you think I should be aware of, the culture, the people, food, taxi transfer costs etc pro%26#39;s and con%26#39;s really. Thinking of going either the start of August or September just wondering what to expect weatherwise. Any info would be great

We%26#39;re going next Sunday - 27th July
Flying from Doncaster (expensive!)in fact it would have been cheaper to do a package holiday!
Staying in a villa in Lapta - this will be our third time in N.Cyprus.
First time at Hotel Sempati, second in a villa in Alsancak.
Prices similar to Turkey.
Our taxi transfer is £50 each way and hire car £18 per day.
Weather very hot!!
Similar age to yourselves (obviously young!!) taking two teenage daughters 18 and 14 but last year just me and hubby went
Loved Di Figaro%26#39;s restaurant - a bit pricey but great as a one off
Look on the web-site www.cyprus44.com
Very informative from local Brits living out there
Any more info please contact me

Thanks for your answer Tracy, great information, very helpful. Actually provisionally booked a penthouse apartment about fifteen minutes stroll from the harbour will be there on the 30th. Have to book a flight from Cardiff, you%26#39;re right the flights are pretty pricey!! Only Hubby and me going, our youngest is 18 and is spending that week at his mates so we thought we%26#39;d make the most of it and shoot off as he%26#39;s at that age were he doesn%26#39;t want to go with his old Mam and Dad!! Will have a look for the restaurant you suggested and will certainly have a look at the link. Well cheers again, hope you and the family have a great holiday!!
Regards Andrea
