I recently stayed in Morocco and went to a hammam where I had several layers of skin removed,a mud wrap and massage. This may have been typically Moroccan but I wondered whether there is anything similar in Northern Cyprus? I presume there are baths given the Turkish influence but having never been to Turkey, I don%26#39;t know what is involved.
If such a thing exists, any advice, recommendations? I will be staying in Alsancak.

I know there is a traditional hammam in old Lefkosa but nearer to you in Alsancak is the Wellness Spa at the new Mercure Hotel at Karaoglanoglu and I have heard that the guy who does the Turkish bath/massage there is excellent. I don%26#39;t think it%26#39;s cheap though.
