Hi harria
I%26#39;m due to get married in Paphos next month, I booked my accomodation and flights myself, then contacted the hotel directly as they do weddings, and booked with them. As for everything else I am organising that myself too- so far so good!
I didn%26#39;t want to book with a TA because they tell you to book your holiday first then they will let you know of any available dates, and sometimes this can%26#39;t be confirmed until a few days before you leave! I don%26#39;t think so!
I%26#39;ll post any major pitfalls when I return

Hi. I%26#39;ve just got back from Peyia (2 mins from Coral Bay) and had the most amazing, perfect wedding. As we were travelling with our two children and parents, we stayed in a villa and got married at the town hall. A company called Cyprus Wedding Belles arranged everything and it was really reasonable. Best of all, the photographer was called Peter Melnik (English) who made our wedding complete. See his website www.petermelnik.com - our pics are on there (Clare and John), and I can%26#39;t recommend him highly enough. Hotels say the town hall is like a conveyer belt - but it was not like that at all. In fact I think it felt more like a %26#39;proper wedding%26#39; to us.

We got married in paphos and we stayed at the Paphos Amathus hotel which is fantastic. Everything (including the wedding, cars, photos etc) was booked through Cyplon Holidays. They cater specifically for holidays in Cyprus and are located in England (www.cyplon.co.uk). Everything was organised by them. We just had to meet the wedding planner in resort, meet up with her one day to go to the Town Hall to do the paperwork and that was it. We got married at the church near St Pauls Pillar - I would recommend it to anyone.

I am also getting married in paphos in April 2009. we originally booked through thompson for the wedding package and 2 week stay in the hotel. The wedding cost is £635. We visited last week and loved the hotel and after meeting the thompson wedding advisor in paphos decided to have the wedding at the hotel too instead of the town hall. On asking thompson on our return home they want another £950 to have the wedding at the hotel!! we are now in the process of cancelling the thompson wedding package and doing everything through the pioneer and having the wedding on the beach at the hotel. I would recommend contacting a large hotel in paphos and doing it all throught them, it is worth booking cheap flights and just trying a few hotels out, if you contact them before you fly out most will give 2 nights free b%26amp;b to inspect the hotel anyway. any problems email me and i will try and answer.
