Hello, hope you can help?
It is my 40th on Sept 6th and we are staying at the Stephanos Apartments in Polis.
Are there any recommendations for something special to do maybe during the day and a nice restaurant (hopefully near-ish Polis?) for the evening.
Any suggestions welcome . . . thanks for taking the time to reply . . . I hope!
Thanks - Heather
PS. It%26#39;s only hubbie and I. We like walking, and sights. Possibly the Troodos Mountains might be a fab day for us?
Cheers

Hi there. My husband and I have been to Polis many times.I recommend that you go to a restaurant called Finikas. This is a lovely place and the food is great. It is actually in the square at Polis and everytime we go to Cyprus we make sure we go here.A nice way to spend the day would be in the troodos mountains and will think of anything else you could do.Hope you enjoy yourselves. My husband and I are celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary while in Cyprus this year and we cant wait, but have to wait til 14th Sept to go.

Hello Heather,
A trip to Aphrodite%26#39;s Bath%26#39;s may be a treat but take your swimwear and take a dip below the cliffs.
The water there is crystal clear due to the rocks and little sediment.
The beach has no real facilities but the cafe / restaurants above have areas to change and shower I think?
The view at least is worth a visit.
Good Luck for Septemeber
Regards
Stewart

Hello Heather
I can highly recommend a taverna/restaurant called Liza%26#39;s Place on the coast road in Argaka which is just a few km from Polis...we%26#39;ve been there several times this visit (just back last night) and I had my birthday meal there on the 11/7/08...the old guy there is so lovely and makes you feel very welcome, they would even arrange birthday cake for you if they know 24 hours in advance...it%26#39;s always busy with cypriot families and the sunsets from there are fabulous.
for somewhere even more traditional, there is a lovely taverna in Fyti (approx 20 mins drive down the B7 and signposted off the main road, its the one on the corner next door to the church, the village tavern I think it%26#39;s called) the owner Maria is so welcoming and even if you don%26#39;t go on your birthday, she does a fantastic Sunday lunch - Cypriot style...not to be missed!!!
have a lovely holiday.
