Napa Mermaid or Grecian Park for baby??

Hey there,

we are thinking of booking one of these hotels in september, but are just wondering what are the facilities for a baby?? he will be 9 months old when we go. Just for things like a fridge, high chairs, baby pool, creche? also do both hotels have a spa?? Which hotel is the most family friendly? and which room type would you recommend for a family of 3? thanks in advance!

Hi,

We have just got married at Grecian Park in May. We were woried about going with kids (12 mth, 21mth %26amp; 3yrs) as we thought it would be too posh for kids to be running around- but luckly we were wrong! There was other kids there but it wasn%26#39;t packed with them which was nice.

The hotel is fantastic and Konnos bay is beautiful, so much nicer than the nearby beaches (although they are still very nice)! Tip- If you are taking the pram to the beach, go the road way down rather than via the steps from hotel. It takes a little longer but we found it easier as we loaded the pram up and pushed it rather than having to carry everything.

We were a family of 3, our room was plenty big enough for our bed and also a travel cot. There was also somewhere to put the pram, toys and all the other baggage you seem to collect with little ones! Not sure if you need to know but our balcony was safe enough to let our little boy (21mth) come in and out as he wished.

As for fridge, there is a mini bar which we naughtly used to put some of our own things in. They didnt mind until about 3 days before coming home (peak season started) when they suggested we could hire a fridge if needed. It%26#39;s only around 3euro, so it would be worth it.

There is a childrens pool which is a good size and the main pool it is stepped going in at both ends, so our little boy spent most of his time sat playing there or on the bridge. There%26#39;s an indoor pool and a jacuzzi and also a small play area in the grounds.

We didnt use baby sitting facilities but if I remember right, you just have to book with reception 24hrs in advance. Unless you are planning a night of no interruptions, you will probably find that taking the baby with you is the best bet. All the resturants and pubs are child %26amp; pram friendly, (some even have play areas set aside) in fact they love children!

As for eating at the hotel, we stayed B%26amp;B. At breakfast there were plenty highchairs, but dont offend staff by tyring to carry one and the baby as they are more than happy to help you (unlike over here!). Food wise, there was cereal, toast, beans and plenty of fruit etc for your little one.

There is also a spa. I had my nails done there and staff were very nice. The atmosphere was so relaxing, it%26#39;s just a shame I never managed to get my massage!

All in all, we thought the hotel and staff at Grecain Park were fantastic. Let me know if you need any more info- I know what it%26#39;s like tyring to plan with a little one.

Hey there,

Thanks so much for your reply, we have decided to book this hotel in Sept. I was wondering, what are the supermarkets for things like formula and baby food and nappies etc?? Would we be better off bringing our own?? Would you recommend anything activities to do with a baby, trips etc?? What is the town like for babies? Is there any particular restaurants that you would recommed?

Thanks again.

As the previous posting says the Grecian Park is in the most stunning location but unless you intend staying in the hotel for the whole of your holiday I would recommend hiring a car. The beach and sea are lovely and safe for children but it is quite a steep walk down to the beach. There are no big shops (or at least there weren%26#39;t in May) near the hotel so you would need to stock up with baby supplies but there are plenty of supermarkets in Protaras and a big Orphanides on the way to Paralimni. All of the restaurants in Protaras are child friendly - the Cypriots love children and never see them as an intrusion unlike the UK!

Have a look on the TripAdvisor reviews and you will find some lovely photographs of the Grecian Park and Konnos Bay.
