I am flying to Larnaca for 10 days in October, we are stying with his mum for a few days in Larnaca...Cn anyone advise me whether or not we should stay in a hotel in larnaca for the rest of the time or drive to paphos.we are a young couple both like nice resturants and bars, good beaches and a bit of atmosphere (but not aya napa crazy)?
Also if we were to make the drive how long does it take?
Thanks

Protaras and Pernera have excellent beaches and only a 45 minute drive from Larnaca. Paphos 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive depending on your driving.

I would say do not miss the opportunity to visit Paphos. The drive takes between 2 to 3 hours depending on the road conditions and /or time of the day. If you appreciate cullinary arts and enjoy live Greek entertainment, try Demokritos in Paphos. The food would satiate your palate and the dancers would provide a memorable night.
If you are looking for cultural activities, Paphos, the birth place of Aphrodite, will fascinate you. Temple of Aphrodite, Aphrodite%26#39;s rock and baths of Aphrodite are enchanting sites.

I would also recommend that you split your time. Now, if you care about top notch beaches and nothing else, then these will be close and to the east (Ayia Napa/Protaras). Otherwise, there are loads to explore all around, both with regards to culture as well as nature.
Take care

Hi emchapman84
You won%26#39;t get any of your choices in Larnaca. Don%26#39;t get me wrong, but it%26#39;s a working town where tourists come second. Paphos is probably your best bet, but there aren%26#39;t many decent beaches. As posted elsewhere, it%26#39;s the east end for beaches. If you don%26#39;t want the worst of Ayia Napa you could look at Protaras.

If you want a beautiful beach then look at Nissi Beach, a short taxi ride or a 20 min walk from Aya Napa. Also don%26#39;t believe what you hear about Aya Napa there are some good restaurants %26amp; the harbour area is a very attractive place to sit and enjoy a drink or delicious fish.
By October the season is winding down so places are not so busy %26amp; there are some good bars to people watch in the main square in Aya Napa.
The Nisi Beach Hotel is good but there are also many cheaper alternatives slightly further from the beach.

Definately Protaras, though will be winding down in October, still busy enough.
