Hi
Just got back yesterday, stayed at a private villa in Argaka just outside of polis. I was concerned about the water shortage highlighted on here. We stayed for 2 weeks and had constant water throughout. The owner of the villa even topped up the pool every other day. sprinklers where on every night to water her land.
Also anyone looking for a great meal, I can recommend the Mystery Family Tavern just as you leave polis its on the Polis to Latchi road on the right.

Thanks stekemp08,
it%26#39;s put my mind at rest as we are staying in Argaka at the the end of september in a villa and the thought of an empty pool was frightening.
We normally stay in Polis and have never tried the Mystery but you never know we may just take up your recommendation.
Thanks for the info
Keith

we got back last week from our villa holiday in Argaka and had no problems either.
Our restaurant recommendation would be Lisa%26#39;s Place on the coast road in Argaka, we found it last year and they do lovely meze %26amp; Saturday nights are Kleftico night. If you%26#39;re not afraid to try something more traditional, we can also recommend Milos restaurant in Gialia (on the same coast road just through Argaka and signposted off to the right)we had the most delicious meal, cooked as we ordered so go with plenty of time at a very reasonable price (approx 38 euro for moussaka, beef stifado, pork kebab, selection of veg and salad dished, home made chips %26amp; and toasted village bread with garlic %26amp; herb butter %26amp; a couple of ouzo%26#39;s)
enjoy your holiday.
Kitty.
