I Stayed There In 2004 Well To Be Honest It Did Not Meet My Expectations Of Being * A Brill Resort* I Would Never Go There Again. This Is Why :
1. There Is ONE Pool Which Is Quite Dirty!
2. Food Was HORRIBLE!
3. Staff Were EXTREMELY Rude And ILL MANORED!
4. Entertainment Was Rubbish!
5. Front Desk Was USELESS!
6. The Resort Is Simply FILTHY!
7. We Did NOT Feel Safe AT ALL!
Although .. Entertainers Were Friendly And Looked After Our Family!
By The Way:
When You Stay Ask For One Of The Little Apartment Blocks They Are Much More Reasonable/Manageable
STAY CLEAR OF THE HOTEL PART !
Hope This Helps

We have just come back from a stay at the Adelais Bay Hotel (August 2007).
Location wise the hotel is fine. Both Ayia Napa and Protaras are an 80c bus ride away. In the evening, when the weather is cooler you can walk into Protaras. There are a couple of little cove type beach areas quite near - and although rocky, are quiet and ideal and safe for snorkelling. There are also quite a few watersports on offer too.
The hotel itself, however - is very basic. The staff are extremely friendly and really do try to be as helpful as possible. With the exception of one Receptionist, all staff we came into contact with were from Eastern Europe - and all there to develop their English. This does, however, also mean that they offer very little help or advice when asked about anything in Cyprus, including the immediate locality!
Rooms were fairly clean - with maid service every day. Again, very basic - a fridge and kettle would have made all the difference. The air conditioning worked a treat in our room - which was a blessed relief compared to the rest of the hotel.
We stayed half board - and food was served in the Aurora Restaurant - which had the worst air conditioning system I have ever experienced. It was absolutely stifling in there at times, and meant we rushed through our meal in order to sit outside on the terrace to finish our bottle of wine. The food was ok - if a bit limited at times. Not ideal for kids though. House wine was cheap - C£2.50 a litre caraffe - not brill, but certainly drinkable!
The pool was really nice - and probably the best part about the hotel. The temp was just right and it never seemed to get too full. Plenty of sun beds around too. The pool bar was nice too - meals served throughout the day were often better than the actual restaurant. How the staff keep their smiles on their faces the whole time, is beyond me. They run around like fools, and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them.
There is a nice bar area in the hotel - although this is no longer open. We had a letter a week before we were due to travel, to say also there was no entertainment in the hotel either. Whilst we were happy and able to walk into Protaras most nights - if you couldn%26#39;t, all there was to do was sit at the Pool Bar for the evening. Staff put CDs on to create a bit of music - but these were quite limited and extremely repetetive. Most people went out in the evenings.
Whilst we were quite disappointed with the hotel, it certainly didn%26#39;t spoil our holiday. Location wise - we would definitely come back to this area. Hotel wise - NEVER AGAIN!!!
