Came back from Paphos on Sunday and the airport was a nightmare. We flew Thomas Cook to Newcastle and basically queued for an hour and a half to check in. We were so late we basically went straight through security and straight onto the plane. Some marvellous airport planning seems to have gone on wherebay all flights seem to check in once, consequently there was some extremely harrassed and s..l..o..w.. check in staff and about 2000 extremely brassed off passengers. Come on Paphos sort it out!!.

In a nutshell, there%26#39;s nothing new there then!
Paphos airport has been seriously lacking for years now. All the flights from the UK seem to land at around the same time and all the flights home set off at the same time.
Year after year we have witnessed passengers queueing outside the terminal building simply because they can%26#39;t get inside to find their check in desk. There are far too many people descending at exactly the same time.
This year we are flying Easyjet (I know, you don%26#39;t have to say anything) and we don%26#39;t fly until late at night. At first I was a bit miffed about this but I am really starting to think it might be a good thing as it means we will avoid that mid afternoon crush.
Likewise on arrival, there are 3 and 4 flights arriving at once and only 2 luggage carousels.
At least there might be some hope in the form of the new terminal that is due to open at the end of this year.

Wednesdays and Sundays seem to be particularly bad days at both airports in Cyprus, I think most of the tour operators use these days.
We have booked Saturday out and Friday back for our 2 week break in September to try and avoid the chaos we experienced at Larnaca last year on a Wednesday afternoon. We are also trying Easyjet from Gatwick for the first time!
Monarch have flights into Larnaca on a Monday, which we used in April, It was certainly a lot quieter than other days we have flown.

For this very reason I have changed flight times from Wednesdays to Tuesdays flying in and out of Larnaca. Wednesdays seem to be a nightmare generally.

I%26#39;m hoping from the comments on here that as we are due to land 0440 on a Thursday morning that all the rush will have gone by then?? We were supposed to land late afternoon but flight times changed....was a bit cross at first, but after reading this, it might not be such a bad thing!!!
