I%26#39;d ere on the safe side and hire a car. My hubby hired similar for a day, he has 30 years experience, and he came off up Troodos mountains, he hit a small amount of gravel. Luckily he wasn%26#39;t badly injured but had a lot of gravel rash. He wished he%26#39;d never bothered as he had the bike too pay for to get fixed, 600E, as you are only insured 3rd party on bikes. It cost him 50e to hire from The Brothers in the strip at Protaras.

We hired a car for three days and it cost us 100E fully insured and a tank full of petrol.

Not sure if this helps but to hire a 1500cc its was 50 euro for one day and 120 euro for three that was before you start to barter.

I am another spoil sport - Check your travel insurance - mine does not cover dangerous sports - and motor bikes ! (incase you fall off )

Read very carefully what you are signing if you hire a bike. Friends of mine are fanatical and very experienced motorcyclists (Harley Davidsons) and were eager to explore the island by bike. However the very tiny small print on the contract form made them completely liable not only for any damage to the bike but if the bike had to be off the road for any amount of time they would also be responsible for the owner%26#39;s loss of earnings involved whilst the bike was being repaired. They ripped the contract up and hired a car.

Just be aware and ensure you read carefully what you are signing. Its a lovely way to see the island but always wear a helmet and keep within the speed limit, instant fine if you are caught without helmet and speeding and the police are on constant lookout for tourists on bikes.

Proof of ID - you will need your driving licence and credit card and you will need to give details of your hotel and room number.
